Brew Detroit uses state of the art technology to produce the highest quality packaged beer in the most efficient manner possible. The brewhouse consists of a fully automated 100 barrel Braukon brewhouse, 4-roller Buhler mill and the ability to use malt from supersacks, bags or our silos.
Fermentation is carried out in 200 or 400 barrel cylindro-conical tanks, with a total cellar capacity of 4800 barrels. Flexibility in yeast strain selection is given with the yeast propagation vessel which allows for overnight step-up of new yeast starters. Process equipment cleaning is performed with a fully automated four-vessel CIP system. Any desired beer clarification level can be consistently achieved with our recently installed Andritz centrifuge and lenticular sheet filter.

Our Sabco Brew-magic pilot system is a valuable part of our brewing operations. The brew-magic system is useful for developing new products which are often made available as part of our tasting room’s weekly featured beer rotation, as well as providing an excellent test platform for refining our larger scale beer making operations.
Quality beer is our goal and to achieve this we perform extensive testing throughout the brewing process. During processing we utilize tools such as ATP testing and Dissolved Oxygen and Carbonation testing via Haffmans c-DGM. In the laboratory, in-package Dissolved Oxygen levels (TPO) are determined using the Haffmans Inpack piercing device and c-DGM along with other analytical analyses including Carbonation, ABV, OE, AE/RE, ADF/RDF and pH. Microbiological analyses are performed on beer throughout the process. The focus on quality control helps to ensure the beer we produce is the best it can be - so we know our customers receive beer of the highest quality.
